Kataifi Dough for Catering Companies
Catering runs on booked events, not on steady weekly demand. One week is three functions, the next is nothing, and the week after is a 600-cover wedding. Most ingredient suppliers are built for the steady version.
We manufacture kataifi dough in Mumbai and supply caterers on the volumes their diary actually produces.
Why kunafa works well on a catering menu
- It reads as premium without the cost of one. Guests recognise it as something they would order out, which is not true of most trayed desserts.
- It scales cleanly. Kunafa is built in trays and cut into portions, so going from 80 covers to 400 is more trays, not a different method.
- It works as a live counter. Assembled and baked in front of guests, it becomes part of the event rather than just the dessert.
- It holds through a service. Kept warm properly it stays good across a long buffet, which is more than can be said for a lot of plated desserts.
The supply problem this solves
Imported kataifi arrives weeks after it was made, usually frozen and thawed more than once along the way. The strands go brittle and break into fragments instead of separating, so you lose more of every kilo and your team spends longer on prep.
On an event day, prep time is the thing you have least of. Fresh dough pulls apart cleanly, takes butter evenly and browns without scorching.
Working around an unpredictable diary
We do not push caterers into standing weekly orders that do not match how the business works. Tell us what is booked and when, and we produce against it. Through wedding and festival season, earlier notice makes large quantities much easier to guarantee.
Packs come in 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg plus custom quantities, and we deliver across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai.
Getting the quantity right
Before you quote a client, you need dough cost per portion. Weigh what one tray actually consumes, count the portions you cut, and you have your number. We have written that out in how much kataifi dough per kunafa tray, and how our pricing works covers the rate side.
For bulk kataifi dough planning, compare fresh vs frozen kataifi dough for commercial kitchens before confirming an event order.
Formats that scale
At volume, serving format matters more than flavour. Kanafeh Bites need no plates or cutting, the 4-in-1 Kanafeh Box covers mixed tastes in one unit, and gifting boxes work as take-home favours. Full kanafeh range.
Frequently asked questions
Can you handle event-to-event volumes that change every week?
Yes. Catering volumes are lumpy by nature. Tell us what is booked and we will produce against it rather than holding you to a fixed weekly quantity.
How much notice do you need for a large event?
The more the better, especially through wedding and festival season. A few days is usually workable; a fortnight makes a large order straightforward.
Can the dough travel to an off-site venue?
Yes, if it stays sealed and cool until you use it. Kataifi dries out fast once it is open, so keep it wrapped until the kitchen is set up.
Do you supply finished kanafeh for events?
Yes. Some caterers take dough and build on site for a live counter; others buy finished trays to plate. Both work – tell us which you need.
Is there a minimum order?
It depends on the event and the distance. We would rather quote your actual requirement than turn you away over a fixed minimum.
